July 29 – Slip Sliding Away
How are we already at July 29? In just 2 days, Patrick will be officially retired (he has been on vacation for the last month due to accumulated time) and we will be back in Nova Scotia. This month has both flown by and at times crawled 🙂
Today, we headed to Rulantic Water Park (the sister park to Europa from the other day). We got there shortly after opening at 10 and left shortly before closing tonight at 9pm. To say we got our time in today would be an understatement. Sable went off on their own to explore and do rides that interest them (they are definitely the one to try everything) while we slowly made our way around the park to do less crazy ones.
From slides with tubes to floating on the lazy river a bunch of times to sitting in a boat ride to shot water at people and have them shot water back at you, there really was something for everyone. There was even a swim up bar so of course I had to try their Pina Colada. As the temperatures soared to 38 degrees in Rust, Germany, the cold drink and the water bar were very much enjoyed. It was so hot that walking on the walkways literally burnt the bottoms of your feet, so we definitely used the pools to walk around when we were outside.
Back at the hotel, we have started to get ready to head back up to Amsterdam tomorrow to get ready for our flight on Friday. We fly with Westjet so hopefully nothing crazy goes on there with the anticipated labour distruption that is expected on the weekend.
Tomorrow will be a driving day with one stop at a Formula 1 track for a tour. Should be interesting.
Total steps today, though none really strenuous, 13,420.
