July 2 – A what kind of car?

Today was our day to head out on our wild European holiday. We had to reserve a car a couple days after we got here because it was over the maximum allowed days for rental cars if we had it for the entire time we were here. To be honest it was great we didn’t have it in Amsterdam, public transportation there was fabulous. Halifax really could learn a thing or two from them over here. Between buses, trains and boats they really have the whole city covered.

Heading back to the airport on the shuttle, we stopped at the Alamo rental place to pick up our reserved car. We reserved a Volvo XC60 or similar, when we got to the pickup area the lovely worker ask us if we were familiar with a Jaecoo 7. Nope! Looked it up after leaving and it turns out it is a Chinese PHEV by the company Chery (not Chevy like I orignally read). Nice comfortable car. It says it we will be able to get 1,100+ km on a single tank…that will be nice because gas prices here are crazier than home.

Did not really do much sight seeing today as we spent it driving from Amsterdam to Seclin, France.

Tomorrow will be a full day trip to Paris. Hope it is a nicer day than today 🙂
